5 Brookline Police Officers Recognized

This week five Brookline Police officers were recognized in a special ceremony at the Brookline Police Department.

BROOKLINE, MA — Six Brookline Police officers were recognized Thursday, including Officer Robert M. Collins who received the 2017 Police Officer of the Year award medal at the annual Brookline Police awards. The ceremony took place in the Community Room at Brookline Police Headquarters. Acting Chief Mark Morgan spoke to a packed room, according to the police.

From the Award’s Board recommendations and a review of 2017 Certificates of Commendation and officer’s past Certificates of Commendation the following awards were presented:

2017 Police Officer of the Year Medal- Officer Robert M. Collins

Collins was commended in 2011 for quick work with his fellow officers when a 3-Alarm fire broke out on Wellington Terrace. In 2014 he was commended for his work help finding a missing girl, and in 2015 he helped track down a larceny suspect.
