Alan Khazei Announces $1.6M Raise From Over 2,700 Contributions
Khazei's Message of People Before Politics is Resonating

(Brookline, MA) - Alan Khazei, City Year Co-Founder and Democratic Candidate for Congress in the Massachusetts Fourth Congressional District, today announced his campaign’s end of quarter financial results. Khazei is reporting a final Q2 raise of $545,710, bringing total fundraising for his campaign to $1,619,839. The campaign’s cash-on-hand is $1,150,072.
In addition to the total raise, Khazei announced over 2,700 individual contributions to his campaign, another signal of his powerful grassroots support.
“I am honored to have this tremendous grassroots surge of support behind our campaign. We are building a movement that puts people before politics. The best antidote for the current failure of our system to adequately address the crises we face in our public health, economy and race relations is to honor and elevate the will of the people and vast majorities across our district and country who are demanding big change,” Khazei said. “ We can deliver a New Deal for our time that makes economic fairness, gun safety, climate action, universal affordable healthcare and racial justice a reality with a movement that busts down the doors of Congress and lets the people in. That’s how we, in the national service movement, established and grew AmeriCorps. That’s why I’m running.”
Khazei has $802,467 on-hand for the primary and $347,605 on-hand for the general.
Joe Garvey, Campaign Manager, said, “We just had our best quarter of fundraising of the campaign. We are raising the resources we need to be successful in the primary. Given the late primary date, we believe we are also in the best position to immediately defend this historic Democratic Seat from the Republican opponent. Our coalition is building across the MA-04 district.”
