BROOKLINE, MA —Town residents, workers, and students were offered free legal help on Monday to create emergency plans for their children in the event of immigration detention or deportation.
The clinic took place on Monday, June 8, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and was organized by the Brookline Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Community Relations in collaboration with the town’s Immigrant Advancement Committee, according to a town notice.
The event was offered to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Brookline. Participants could make appointments by providing their name, preferred language, and preferred time slot. The location was shared after appointment confirmation.
The notice framed the clinic as a practical legal-planning service for families facing the possibility of sudden separation. The location of the event was only disclosed to participants who confirmed their attendance with the town's DEI department.
