• Massachusetts Raises West Nile Virus Risk Level Following New Human Cases (memesita.com) — Brookline is currently classified at high risk for West Nile virus, alongside several nearby cities, meaning residents should be especially vigilant about mosquito exposure. State health officials report seven human cases statewide this year and urge precautions like removing standing water, using repellent, and wearing long sleeves until the first hard frost reduces mosquito activity.
   

• Man arrested after allegedly pulling gun during Brookline road rage incident (brookline.news) — Brookline police say a 61-year-old man was arrested after allegedly brandishing a gun at another driver during a road rage confrontation on Goddard Avenue Friday evening. No Brookline residents were involved, but officers from Brookline, Boston, and State Police stopped the suspect on the Jamaicaway, and he now faces an assault-with-a-dangerous-weapon charge as investigators sort out conflicting accounts.
   

• Women's Soccer Blanks Northeastern, 3-0, For Third Straight Win - University of Massachusetts Athletics (umassathletics.com) — A University of Massachusetts women's soccer match at Parsons Field in Brookline ended with a decisive 3–0 win over Northeastern, highlighted by two goals from Caroline Dickson. The shutout, backstopped by goalkeeper Leah Nisenfeld, capped UMass's non-conference schedule and gave local fans in Brookline a strong performance to watch on their home turf.
