Best Burger Bar Closes In Brookline Village
It was only in the space for a little more than a year.
BROOKLINE, MA — Best Burger Bar in Brookline Village closed Monday.
"It was just the numbers just weren't doing it for us," said owner John Mascia, who was the former owner of Jerry Remy's Sports Bar. "It was a sad day but it was a business decision and it sucks."
The Station Street burger joint with bar and that offered drinks created by the famous Brother Cleve, closed just days after a packed house and folks wandered in to Celebrate First Light.

Best Burger Bar closed after a bit more than a year in the space. But the owner said he's hoping to transfer the assets. That means, perhaps it will be only a temporary closing.
"We're trying to find a silver lining. We're hoping to transfer ownership to some employees," he said, adding that behind the scenes he's working to help find jobs for employees.
There's no announcement on the web page or social media about the closure yet.
The spot at the corner of Station Street and Best Burger Bar first opened in August 2017, taking over the space where the art-house coffee shop Middle Gray once sat. Before that the space had sat empty for quite a while.
