Brookline Music School Speaker Series Presents Eran Egozy
Eran Egozy, Guitar Hero & Rock Band Game Developer, MIT Professor, & Musician, will speak on Feb. 7, 2019 as part of the BMS Speaker Series.

Brookline Music School (BMS) is partnering with the Brookline Teen Center (BTC) to present Eran Egozy at the second Speaker Series event in its 2018-2019 season. The event will take place on February 7, 2019 at 7:00pm at the Teen Center (40 Aspinwall Ave, Brookline). Eran will lead an engaging and interactive discussion about the intersection of music, technology, and entrepreneurship. Co-founder of Harmonix Music Systems, which developed the popular video games Guitar Hero & Rock Band, professional musician, and professor at MIT, Eran will share his story and his insights on the evolving world of music and technology. About Eran Egozy
Eran Egozy, entrepreneur, musician and technologist, is the co-founder and chief scientist of Harmonix Music Systems, which developed the video game franchises Guitar Hero and Rock Band. He is also an accomplished clarinetist and has appeared as soloist with the MIT Symphony Orchestra and as guest artist on the radio show From the Top. Eran is the clarinetist for Radius Ensemble and has appeared with Boston area ensembles such as Emmanuel Music and A Far Cry. Eran serves on the Boards of several Boston-area non-profit organizations and mentors and invests in a number of startups in the Boston area. Eran holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Music from MIT, where he conducted research in music technology at the MIT Media Lab. He is Professor of the Practice in Music Technology at MIT and his current research and teaching interests are interactive music systems, music information retrieval, and multimodal musical expression and engagement.

The Brookline Teen Center (BTC) is a non-profit drop-in, out-of school time facility offering an array of programs, activities and events that are delivered by our expert staff, volunteers and teens. The BTC strives to transform lives by connecting members with the experiences, resources and supports they need to succeed both in and out of school. The BTC has had a long-time focus on being a “teen-driven” program. Teens are involved in marketing, media, and programming decisions, and use the BTC as a place to launch their own ideas for projects, events and programs.
