Alan Kaplan was one of two people arrested in the alleged scheme.

A Brookline developer this week was charged with lighting one of his properties on fire in 2013.
Alan Kaplan, 50, was indicted and charged with arson. Authorities said he and Sean McCann, 31, torched a Spooner Road property for the insurance money in September of 2013. McCann was also charged with arson.
Kaplan on Tuesday pleaded not guilty. His bail was set at $10,000. He’s due back in court in December.
