Brookline Dunkin' Customer Threw Coffee At Maskless Man: Police
The incident took place Thursday morning around 8:30 a.m. at the Dunkin' location at 8 Harvard Street.

BROOKLINE, MA — A Brookline Dunkin’ Donuts customer is accused of throwing his hot coffee at a man not wearing a mask inside of the store, said police.
The incident took place Thursday morning around 8:30 a.m. at the Dunkin’ location at 8 Harvard Street.
Police say the suspect and the victim got into a verbal exchange regarding the victim being in the store maskless.

"The victim pulled his shirt over his face in an attempt to deescalate the situation,” said the Brookline Police Department in a statement. "The suspect then became belligerent toward store employees as well as other customers. While exiting the store, the suspect threw his hot coffee in the direction of the victim striking the victim on the back of his lower legs."
Police say the suspect was located about two blocks away near Station Street. Upon seeing officers, he ran toward Route 9 where he was taken into custody.

The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon in Brookline District Court. He is charged with one count each of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Disorderly Conduct.
