Brookline Gas Station Credit Card Skimmers Found: Police
Police said the device designed to steal credit card and bank account information was located recently on a gas pump in the town.
BROOKLINE, MA — Drivers who recently paid for gas at the pump in Brookline should keep an eye on their accounts for any suspicious activity after police said what were believed to be credit card skimmers were found on the paying device at a gas station in the town.
Police did not identify the station where the skimmer was found or on which day it was found.
Skimmers placed at the point of payment at stores, ATMs and gas stations can be used to steal credit card or personal information. That information is then sent through an external recorder through Bluetooth technology.
