Brookline Music School (BMS) is excited to announce the first event of the Brookline Music School Speaker Series taking place on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 7:00pm. Join celebrated author Amy Nathan for a discussion about her newest book, Making Time for Making Music. Ms. Nathan’s lively and engaging talk will explore ways in which busy adults can enrich their lives by rediscovering the joy and sense of community that making music brings. Following the talk Ms. Nathan will sign copies of her book, which will be available for purchase at the event. Whether you’re a current music student wishing to increase your musical activities or a prospective student considering musical study for the first time, this event is not to be missed! Amy Nathan, an amateur pianist and choral singer, is an award-winning author of nonfiction books for adults and young people, including The Music Parents' Survival Guide: A Parent-to-Parent Conversation and The Young Musician's Survival Guide. Her newest book, Making Time for Making Music, will be published in May 2018. A graduate of Harvard with masters' degrees from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Columbia's Teachers College, she is the mother of two musical sons: her older son is composer Eric Nathan; her younger son is a saxophone-playing political scientist.
