Brookline Package Theft Suspect Sought In Washington Square Area

Police said the person either posed as a delivery person or was a legitimate delivery person who took the wrong package.

BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline police are seeking the public's help in identifying the person who took a package off the porch of a home in the Washington Square area earlier this month.

Police said the person in question may either be posing as a delivery person and swiping the package or may be a legitimate delivery person who mistakenly took the wrong package back off the porch.

Brookline police said the man in the footage pulled up to the house in an unmarked white van and looked at his cell phone as he walked up to the house and took the package.

Those who recognize the person in the doorbell footage, or who saw anything suspicious in that area recently, are asked to call Brookline detectives at 617-730-2710.
