Brookline Police Log: Wrong-Way Driver Charged with DUI, Drug Bust at Robinson Playground, Identity Theft

The following are excerpts from the Brookline police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Fri., Aug. 22

  • Heip Vo, 30, of Susan Drive, Saugus, was charged with OUI. Police said at about 2 a.m., an officer saw Vo driving a white Subaru the wrong way on Marion Street and pulled him over. The vehicle reeked of alcohol and Vo seemed to be deliberately trying to avoid eye contact with the officer. He had bloodshot eyes and slurred his words. He was administered a field sobriety test and then placed under arrest.

Thur., Aug. 21

  • Dennis Mahony, 35, of Franklin Street, Brookline, was charged with drug possession. An officer saw Mahoney smoking a cigarette at Robinson Playground at about 2 a.m.—well past the park’s closing time. A records search turned up a larceny warrant.
