Brookline Pubic Schools Release Preliminary 2023 Budget
The budget is now up for review by the School Committee.

BROOKLINE, MA — The Public Schools of Brookline has released the preliminary budget for fiscal year 2023, which is now up for review by the School Committee.
The budget, up $9.5 million over the 2022 budget of $128.2 million, will help the district build capacity and strategic direction by increasing investments in curricular materials and resources, growing the equity office, continuing to support the pandemic needs of students, ensuring innovative instructional practices, and more, according to Superintendent Linus Guillory.
"The District is sensitive to the Town’s fiscal short‐and long‐term challenges and developed a budget that is in alignment with the community’s expectations to provide an educational experience aligned to our core values,” said Guillory in a letter to the School Committee.

Although the district has not yet recovered from the pandemic decline in enrollment, Guillory is not recommending reductions in staffing due to the increasing academic and social needs of students.
"t is of the utmost urgency that we maintain our current classroom configurations and school based supports for the coming year; we will continue to monitor enrollment as well as gain efficiencies in section assignments,” he said.
