BROOKLINE, MA — The Public Schools of Brookline is launching a social emotional learning survey to be completed by students in grades 3-12.

According to Superintendent Linus Guillory, the survey will be completed in late October and will measure social emotional learning competencies including self-efficacy, emotional regulation, and social awareness. It does not ask questions about risk-taking behavior, safety, or mental health diagnoses.

"The information gathered through the survey will be used to review Brookline’s SEL programming and make improvements designed to increase student SEL skills which are critical to school, career, and life success," said Guillory in an announcement Friday.
