Brookline School Committee, Bott Finalize Superintendent Contract

Lincoln School Principal Andrew Bott will take over as superintendent July 1.

BROOKLINE, MA - Brookline Public Schools will have its new superintendent come July.

The school committee finalized its deal with candidate Andrew Bott, who currently serves as principal of Lincoln School.

According to the Brookline TAB, the committee voted 7-0 with two members absent in favor of the three-year contract. Bott's starting salary will be $192,000 and he will receive 23 vacation days in addition to annual sick leave. The district will also pay Bott's fee for the state's new superintendent induction program, which is about $4,300.

Brookline's last superintendent, William Lupini, earned $225,116, according to documents cited by the TAB.

Bott was approved for the position in March, pending contract negotiations. The Brookline School Committee sought feedback from previous employers, stakeholders, community leaders, parents and students throughout the selection process.

Other finalists for the position were Superintendent of Bedford Schools Jon Sills and former Superintendent of Schools in East Baton Rouge Parrish, LA Bernard Taylor.

Bott will begin his tenure as superintendent July 1.
