Brookline School District Welcomes New Steps To Success Director
In her new role, Sophya Williams-Louis will provide academic support and services to students living in public housing.

BROOKLINE, MA — The Public Schools of Brookline is welcoming Sophya Williams-Louis as the new District Director for Steps to Success, a local non-profit organization that supports low-income families in Brookline and has been a partner with the district since its founding in 2001.
In her new role, Williams-Louis will provide individualized academic support and services to students living in public housing, support PSB staff in this endeavor, and facilitate collaboration between PSB, Steps to Success, and the Brookline Housing Authority.
Prior to accepting this position, Sophya served as Dean of Students for Everett High School, the Steps to Success Program Advisor for the Pierce School, and other positions related to the criminal justice system and community outreach.

"We are very excited to welcome her back to Brookline and look forward to working with her to support our students and communities,” said Superintendent Linus Guillory in an update Friday. "Be on the lookout for her as she visits your school!”
Steps to Success strives to promote equity for students from low-income families in Brookline by expanding their horizons, building upon their skills, and supporting their educational journey. It is the only Brookline program that addresses the educational needs of children living in public housing.
