Brookline Student Success: Berklee Graduates & Deans List, Purdue University Summer Program

Local Residents Graduate from Berklee College of Music in May 2012 

Berklee's class of 2012 included more than 900 students graduating with bachelor of music degrees or professional diplomas. Female graduates numbered 280, representing 31 percent of the total class-- the largest number ever. International students from 58 different countries made up 34 percent of the class. The following students participated in Berklee College of Music's 2012 Commencement held recently in Boston at Boston University's Agganis Arena.

  • Joshua Cohen of Brookline received a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Film Scoring from the President of Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown.
  • Yakir Arbib of Brookline received a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Performance from the President of Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown.
  • David Cardona of Brookline received a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Writing and Production and Electronic Production and Design from the President of Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown.
  • Hyoung-bin Kim of Chestnut Hill received a Bachelor of Music in Film Scoring from the President of Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown.
  • Lorenzo Carrano of Brookline received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Composition from the President of Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown.
  • Kyung Bo Noh of Brookline received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Composition from the President of Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown.
  • Oscar Alvaraudo of Brookline received a Bachelor of Music in Music Production and Engineering from the President of Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown.

Local Residents Earn Places on Dean's List at Berklee College of Music

The Berklee curriculum focuses on practical career preparation for today's music industry. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.

Local students participate in summer program at Purdue University

Local students took the first step in becoming Boilermakers by participating in the annual STAR program at Purdue University's West Lafayette campus.

Summer Transition, Advising and Registration (STAR) is Purdue's program for new undergraduate students to receive academic advice and create their initial course schedule. Incoming students select their one-day STAR session and come to Purdue's West Lafayette campus to conduct this and other important business.

Local residents recently graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

  • Daniel Prager of Chestnut Hill, MA (02467), earned a BFA degree in Architecture.
