Brookline Woman Sues Whole Foods Over Yogurt

Tracey M. Knox claims the grocery chain mislabeled the amount of sugar in its yogurt.

A Brookline woman filed a lawsuit against Whole Foods, claiming the grocery chain lowballed the amount of sugar in its yogurt.

The Boston Business Journal reported Tracey M. Knox is trying to make it a class-action case.

Last month, Consumer Reports published its review of Whole Foods’ “365 Every Day Value Plain Fat-Free Greek Yogurt.” While the label said it contained 2 grams of sugar, Consumer Reports’ analysis found it actually contained about 11 grams of sugar.

“Given Whole Foods’ care and attention to food content, this discrepancy in the sugar content in one of its own branded products is that much more bewildering,” Consumer Reports said.

Knox’s lawsuit cites the Consumer Reports study, according to the Boston Business Journal.
