Brookline's Lineage Restaurant to Close in August

Co-owners Jeremy and Lisa Sewall announced the decision in a press release Monday.

BROOKLINE, MA - Coolidge Corner seafood eatery Lineage will close its doors August 1.

Co-owners Jeremy and Lisa Sewall made the announcement in a press release Monday, ending the restaurant's decade-long tenure on Harvard Street.

According to Boston Eater, the decision was made to pave the way for several new projects the duo has in the works, including a new Island Creek Oyster Bar location in Burlington and a yet-unnamed restaurant in Harvard Square. They also cited mounting family responsibilities as playing a role in Lineage's conclusion.

Lineage derived its name from Jeremy Sewall's Brookline roots - Boston Eater reported his great-great-great uncle Samuel Sewall "owned much of the land that is now Brookline."

Sewall and his team, comprised of Skip Bennett, Garrett Harker and Shore Gregory, plan to open the Burlington Island Creek Oyster Bar some time this year.
