BROOKLINE, MA — Wild Goose Chase, an artisan craft shop in Coolidge Corner, will be reopening in a new location this fall, ending a nearly three-month-long closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic and changing retailing trends.

The business, which closed its location at 1355 Beacon St. on June 26, will reopen next door at 1349 Beacon St. this fall, with the exact date to be determined. Eureka Puzzles will take over Wild Goose Chase's former location in October with an addition of an in-store custom puzzle press.

In 2014, Brookline residents Beth and Kevin Venti took over Wild Goose Chase from Irene Change and her husband Robert Kelly, who owned the shop since they bought it from the original owners in the 80s. Two years later, the Vents set up an online store in an attempt to keep up with changing shopping trends and have remained open to trying new things.

"In essence we are switching locations to accommodate the needs of our ever-changing businesses," said the Ventis in a letter to the community.

"Thank you for your continued support and patience while we reimagine the future of the Wild Goose Chase," they continued. "stay tuned for more details on our opening day."

In addition to moving locations, Wild Goose Chase also has a new business partner, longtime Brookline resident Lisa Wisel. Wisel is the owner of the VineRipe Grill at Brookline’s Municipal Golf course and an active member of the Chamber of Commerce.

"Lisa's leadership will add a new refreshing dynamic to the shop that hill allow us to continue to grow and thrive as a landmark destination in Coolidge Corner," said the Ventis. "If you see Kevin in the store, chances are he is just visiting as he has officially 'retired'... for now."

Wild Goose Chase's online store is currently open with a small selection of artisan jewelry. To get in touch with the business, email wildgoosechasebrookline@gmail.com.
