The United Parish in Brookline’s Jazz Sanctuary concert series kicks off on Friday, October 23 at 8pm with two of Boston’s jazz heavyweights: trumpeter Jason Palmer and pianist Kevin Harris! These longtime musical allies will be showcasing material from their intimate SteepleChase Records album “Shorter Songs” - an homage to the legendary saxophonist Wayne Shorter consisting of newly penned melodies built over the complex harmonic chord structures of Shorter classics.
Jazz Sanctuary is a community-driven cultural initiative launched in the autumn of 2025 that transforms a historic sacred space into a vibrant hub for live jazz music. Admission is "pay what you can," to ensure live jazz remains open and accessible to all members of the community. Audience contributions directly support the performing artists as they help us build appreciation for United Parish's magnificent sanctuary as a haven for music, community gatherings, and worship.
