"Our 2016 Top 30 award winners are visionaries who are going against the grain to increase funding, bandwidth, privacy protocols, predictive analytics and to improve the personalization of learning," Dr. Kecia Ray, executive director of the Center for Digital Education, in a statement. "With technology as their catalyst, they are dedicated to transforming education at the local, state and national levels in ways that have a positive impact on student success. I am thrilled to recognize our award winners and applaud their achievements."

Dede recently introduced a series of "unlearning" workshops at Beaver Country Day to encourage a shift in how educators approach teaching. Through this system, teachers were challenged to approach problems from new perspectives and alter their current systems, habits and mindsets.
