Coolidge Corner Theatre Announces 'Midsummer Stick-ups!' Heist Film Series in August
Beat the heat with a lineup of cinematic master thieves featuring classic films like Heat, The Great Muppet Caper.
The Coolidge Corner Theatre is giving moviegoers a chance to beat the summer heat by living vicariously through some of cinema's most legendary movie thieves.
Throughout August, the independent cinema will host “Midsummer Stick-ups!”, a curated film series showcasing a wide range of iconic heist movies. The lineup spans genres and eras, ranging from suave cat burglars in classic favorites to complex team operations in intense crime thrillers.
The series kicks off with a 30th anniversary 35mm screening of Wes Anderson's debut feature, Bottle Rocket, and continues through the month with classics like The Great Muppet Caper, Stanley Kubrick's The Killing, Michael Mann's Heat, and Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief.
