2012 SUZUKI FLUTE TEACHER TRAINING

Brookline Music School presents the 2012 Suzuki Flute Training for Book 2 on Thursday, January 12 to Monday, January 16, 2012 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at 25 Kennard Road in Brookline. Over the course of five days, trainees will receive 15 hours of classroom time and eight hours of observation time, in conjunction with the 8th Annual Suzuki Flute Workshop.

Facilitator for Flute Book 2, Kimberly Lorimier has been a registered SAA flute teacher trainer since 2000 and has been teaching in Massachusetts for the past 15 years. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan in flute performance and received her graduation certificate from the Talent Education Institute in Matsumoto, Japan where she studied with Toshio Takahashi. Her studio is currently in Needham, MA and she enjoys freelancing in the Boston area.

Facilitator for Flute Book 4, Laurel Ann Maurer, flute, has been recognized as “one of our outstanding and gifted flutists” by her principal teacher, Julius Baker. She began her Suzuki training in 1987 with Rebecca Paluzzi and also studied privately with Toshio Takahashi, founder of the Suzuki Flute Method. Ms. Maurer became a Suzuki Teacher Trainer in 2007. She has toured throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia, has recorded many CDs and has commissioned new flute works from many American composers. Laurel Ann also studied with Jeanne Baxtresser and Samuel Baron.
