Floral Design Workshop: Keeping it Local

This Program is offered by Brookline Adult and Community Education.

New England boasts an incredible abundance of flowers in all warm seasons. Learn to transform a selection of readily available flowers and branches into beautiful floral arrangements. You will learn how to select and handle cut flowers, create arrangements that boast a distinctive visual flair, and care for your arrangements so that they will remain vibrant for days. We'll explore the color, texture, and variety of seasonal and local blooms, and discuss the myriad styles of floral design, such as the pavŽ style, which emphasizes tight, compact design and lushness, and the Dutch realist style, which incorporates a broad variety of flowers and fruits for an "over-the-top" effect. The cost of materials is approximately $18 for each project, payable to the instructor.
