Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation will hold a donor recruitment drive to register potential bone marrow donors for its worldwide registry at Congregation Kehillath Israel. Inspirational speaker Kevin Walsh will be speaking at a breakfast, and the event, scheduled on September 25th, will run from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM. Registration is required, and the entry fee is $7.
Walsh is a sports anchor and author of “The Marrow within Me,” which is about his experiences as a bone marrow donor. He will speak at a breakfast at Congregation Kehillath Israel. Walsh, a featured speaker for many charitable and business organizations, covers a wide range of topics, including bone marrow registration and donation, running for a cause, and how to have faith in the workplace. After he speaks, guests will have the opportunity to become a potential bone marrow donor by joining the worldwide registry.
If you are between the ages of 18 and 60 and in general good health, you are eligible to be screened and join the worldwide registry for patients in need. A simple swab from the inside of your cheek is all it takes to determine if you are a match.
