Rally to Kick off National Recovery Month

The National Library of Addictions will gather hundreds of members of the addictions recovery community to kick-off National Recovery Month with a rally on Boston Common.

This year’s keynote speaker, Attorney Richard Dyer - a man who is looked upon as one of addictions greatest success stories – will speak to hundreds of members of the recovery community about his struggles with addiction and incarceration starting at age 14. After spending several years in and out of jail, Rick accomplished an incredibly noteworthy set of goals – which include earning a law degree, passing the bar exam, and receiving a Governor’s Pardon. For the past 25 years Rick has been a tireless advocate on behalf of the addictions community.

Recovery Month is dedicated to highlighting the individuals who have reclaimed their lives and the treatment facilities that make recovery possible.

This year’s Common Ground event will also be highlighted by a speech of hope from National Library of Addictions President Dr. Punyamurtula S. Kishore.
