MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES GURU HOWARD GARDNER FEATURED IN OCT. 3 FORUM AT BROOKLINE HIGH SCHOOL -- “SHAPING OUR DIGITAL WORLD: YOU HAVE THE POWER”
On Oct 3 at 7 p.m. in Brookline High School’s Roberts/Dubbs Auditorium, Common Sense Media and the GoodPlay Project at Harvard Project Zero are presenting a free town hall discussion on “Shaping Our Digital World: You Have the Power.” The evening explores the challenges and opportunities our youth face growing up in a public and powerful online world. The forum features the father of the multiple intelligences theory Howard Gardner. The renowned Harvard professor of cognition and education contends that the transformation of our world by digital media is as radical as the invention of the printing press was in its day, representing a fundamental shift in the way we acquire and process information, also impacting how we form and maintain personal relationships. The evening will also include two discussion panels – one comprised of national experts Gardner and Common Sense Media’s Linda Burch, along with a technology teacher and a BHS parent; the other comprised of a panel of BHS teens.
