Fall Town Meeting Preview

Residents to vote on various capital articles related to the construction of the new police station

At Town Meeting on Monday, November 9th, residents will be asked to vote on various capital articles related to the construction of the new police station. Now that the town has approved funding for the designs of the proposed new station, we are moving into the construction bidding process and are evaluating roadway construction proposals designed to ease ingress and egress around the police station and abutting properties.

The articles submitted for vote include, but are not limited to, the funding of the Deerfield Ave Extension, rezoning parcels of land near 90 Deerfield Ave and 790 Gay Street, the acquisition/transfer and relocation of the scout house used by Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts for the purpose of laying out a right-of-way and parking lot, as well as acquisition/transfer of land currently owned by the American Legion for the purpose of laying out a right-of-way.

Residents are strongly encouraged to attend town meeting to vote on these important governing issues so that the town can continue to move toward our vision for improved community services.
