'Fight Club' Author Coming to Brookline to Promote Sequel

BROOKLINE, MA - The author of "Fight Club" will make an appearance in Brookline as he promotes the sequel to his iconic novel.

Chuck Palahniuk will sign copies of "Fight Club 2," a graphic novel written by Palahniuk and illustrated by artist Cameron Stewart, July 17 at the Brookline Booksmith.

The much-anticipated graphic novel is a direct sequel to 1996's "Fight Club." Set a decade after the events of the original, the protagonist is married with a kid. He lives a quiet, boring life - until an old friend returns.

Palahniuk's original novel was adapted into the 1999 film starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton and directed by David Fincher. Though the movie was a box office failure, raking in just $37 million on a $63 million budget, it later achieved cult status and is considered one of the perennial films of the 90's.

Palahniuk will appear at Brookline Booksmith Sunday, July 17 at 2 p.m. The event is a book signing only; Palahniuk will not be performing or reading.
