Former Brookline Cannabis Dispensary Manager Charged With Stealing Money: Report
The man is facing larceny charges.
BROOKLINE, MA — A former manager of a Coolidge Corner cannabis dispensary has been charged with stealing more than $2,000 from the business's cash deposits, according to a report from Brookline.News.
Brookline police allege Raul Miller stole more than $2,000 from two sealed deposit bags while working as a manager at Deezle Cannabis on Beacon Street. The investigation began after dispensary owner Kim Laramee reported that two bank deposits contained less cash than the amounts recorded in the business's deposit logs. Bank employees reportedly found no signs that either deposit bag had been tampered with.
Miller was reportedly responsible for counting, logging, and sealing cash deposits before an armored courier picked them up. Investigators also found that a surveillance camera feed overlooking the dispensary's cash room had been removed from the system's main display. Although police were unable to identify a specific theft on surveillance footage because of poor video quality, Detective Shinai Hattori determined there was sufficient evidence to seek a criminal complaint charging Miller with larceny over $1,200
