BROOKLINE, MA — Town Meeting started May 23, at 7 p.m. and the elected officials are scheduled to discuss everything from labor contracts to the budget. Officials say this will definitely go into a second night of Town Meeting, which is scheduled for Wednesday, May 24. Some officials said the Town Meeting could go on for three nights.

Article 1: Measures of Wood and Bark
Vote: Passes unanimously.

Article 2: Labor Contracts, teamsters, etc.
Vote: Motion carries unanimously (voice vote)

Article 3: Approval of Compensating Balance Agreements
Vote: motion carries unanimously (voice vote)

Article 4: Status of all special appropriations
Vote: no action

Article 5: Unpaid bills, none before town
Vote: no action

Article 6: Increase in the property tax exemptions, p. 6-2
Vote: carries unanimously.

Article 7: Year-end adjustments to the current year (FY17 Budget) adding $1 million to reserve fund (fire truck related)
Vote: carries unanimously

Article 8: Bond premiums
Vote: Carries unanimously.

Article 9: FY 2018 Budget
Vote: on the appropriation for $100,000 for the Baldwin Site study - Passed 182 to 30 no
