Japanese Tea House To Open Next Week In Coolidge Corner
Gen Sou En the Japanese Tea House is planning a grand opening next week.
BROOKLINE, MA — If you've been following along on Facebook or Instagram you may have seen the ista-worthy photos of green matcha tea along side some baked goods just sitting there, just out of reach, because the Japanese tea house wasn't yet open yet. That's about to change.
Gen Sou En Tea House is slated to open shop in Coolidge Corner on Feb. 21, they announced today. This is the company's first such venture in the US.
The vision that is Gen Sou En Tea House is one that aims to combine traditional green tea preparation with contemporary food pairings, and blend Japanese culture with local sourcing.

The tea shop will have an array of tea and coffee on the menu and plans to be open to serve breakfast, lunch, light dinner and dessert, plus sake, wine and beer.
It's just undergone a lot of remodeling since the days when it was home to Panera.

The Tea House opens to the public at 10:00 a.m. on Feb. 21.
Hours: Open 7 days a week, Monday to Sunday: 6:30am-9pm
