Minority Brookline Police Officers Allege Discrimination

Two Brookline police officers claimed other officers directed racial slurs at them.

BROOKLINE, MA — Town officials are investigating claims by two minority Brookline police officers that they were discriminated against.

The officers reportedly claimed other officers directed racist slurs at them.

Police Chief Daniel O’Leary said he’s “deeply concerned” about the allegations. The town has commissioned an investigation.

“At the time the allegations were made, the Police Department promptly initiated investigations and took steps to address issues that were raised,” O’Leary said in a statement. “These allegations, though disturbing, will be dealt with and should not take away from the outstanding work the department and our members do on a daily basis.”
