BROOKLINE, MA — Newport Restaurant Group (NRG) has made a donation of nearly $8,800 to the Brookline Food Pantry as part of its annual holiday gift card program.
This year, NRG doubled its commitment by donating $2.00 from every gift card order to community partners whose mission focuses on food insecurity. The Brookline Food Pantry is one of six organizations that will receive a total of $52,838 from the annual fundraiser.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been helping three times as many households at the Brookline Food Pantry as we did before March of 2020,” said Elizabeth Boen, Executive Director of the Brookline Food Pantry, in a statement. “This includes approximately 650 families at our pantry locations, over 60 deliveries to homebound elderly neighbors, and over 400 weekend backpacks per week to school children.”
