Residents Displaced After Brookline Fire

A fire broke out on Egmont Street Monday night.

BROOKLINE, MA — Several residents were without a home after a fire broke out in a Brookline Housing Authority building Monday night.

There were no injuries, according to officials.

Monday evening around 7 p.m. Brookline firefighters were called to an Egmont Street apartment building for a report of a fire on the second floor of the building. Within the hour firefighters had put out the fire, they said.

Fire Department officials said they called in mutual aide from neighboring departments to help.

According to early scanner reports the fire seemed to originate in a bedroom.
