Shooting Near Boston University: Suspect Killed
It happened on Storrow Drive Friday afternoon.

A knife-wielding suspect was killed by a police officer in a shooting near Boston University Friday afternoon.
State Police said the incident happened on the Silber Footbridge over Storrow Drive near Back Street. This is a shot of the crime scene:

State Police Superintendent Tim Alben said the suspect had a warrant out for his arrest for harassing a woman in the Roxbury area. A police officer walked by the suspect and engaged him in conversation—at which point the suspect pulled out a knife, Alben said. The suspect ignored demands to drop the knife and was shot by one police officer.

The suspect was not immediately identified.
“The guy was holding a knife and was walking towards the cop and the cop shot him four times,” sophomore student Vicky Radaios told the Daily Free Press. “I saw him go down.”
Another witness gave this account to the Boston Globe:
“The troopers were chasing him he ran up the walkway. The troopers were telling him to drop the knife ... There was a trooper who had come from the other side of the walkway. The guy went at him. The trooper said, ‘Drop the weapon! Drop the weapon!’ He kept coming, and the trooper fired at him.”
State Police said they were not releasing details on the incident as of Friday afternoon.
