Straight Outta Brookline: Famous Faces From Your Hometown
Conan O'Brien - Most likely the only late night talk show host who can dunk a basketball

BROOKLINE, MA - Conan O'Brien, notable amongst late night talk show hosts for his signature shock of red hair and verticality, was born and raised in Brookline.
A career funnyman, he's hosted a slew of talk shows for more than 20 years, in addition to lending his writing talent to TV juggernauts Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons.
But before he was at the helm of the aptly-named Conan on TBS, Conan O'Brien was the managing editor of the Brookline High School newspaper, 'The Sagamore.' After graduating valedictorian of his high school class he moved a few towns over to Cambridge, where he attended Harvard and wrote for the university's humor magazine, the 'Harvard Lampoon.'

He left the Bay State after college and moved to Los Angeles after landing a gig on HBO's Not Necessarily the News. From there, he enjoyed a decade-long writing career before making the switch to performing in 1993.
For the past 23 years O'Brien has been a mainstay of talk show TV; first on Late Night With Conan O'Brien, then briefly on The Tonight Show, and finally landing on TBS as host of Conan.
