Teen Charged in Armed Robbery Over Video Game Wager at Pine Manor College
Shaquille Ardrey, 18, of Pittsfield, Mass., was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery using a firearm.

A Pine Manor College student was charged Sunday in an alleged armed robbery that stemmed from a wager over the video game “NBA 2K15.”
Shaquille Ardrey, 18, of Pittsfield, Mass., was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery using a firearm.
Witnesses told police that Ardrey and another student were in a dorm room and put a small wager on the video game. Ardrey won the game and demanded the money, according to a police report. The other student denied there was a wager on the game and refused to pay. Ardrey allegedly left then returned with six friends, one of whom brandished a .45-caliber handgun while they searched the room for money. They allegedly left with $300.

The next day, police said they identified Ardrey as the suspect and spoke to him over the phone. They said he needed to come to the police station. Ardrey said he was in Rhode Island and couldn’t do that immediately. He ended up going to the police station Sunday and was charged.
