Hunting Season Info Released For Burlington Landlocked Forest

The Town of Burlington will hold an archery season for deer in the Landlocked Forest this fall.

BURLINGTON, MA — The Town of Burlington will hold an archery season for deer in the Landlocked Forest beginning on October 5, 2026. Applications are available now at the Conservation Department web page (https://www.burlington.org/823/Landlocked-Forest-Bow-Hunting). Applications must be returned by noon on September 18 to Morandi's Barber Shop, 1 Mountain Road, Burlington.

The archery season is specific to the Landlocked Forest and does not apply to Burlington Conservation Areas. No firearms of any kind are permitted. Other uses of the Landlocked Forest continue to be welcome during this season. The dates for Archery Hunting in the Landlocked Forest for the 2026 season are October 5, 2025 to December 31, 2026, with no hunting on Sundays. Hunting is allowed from one half hour before sunrise until one half hour after sunset.

The Burlington season will follow all Commonwealth of Massachusetts laws and regulations for deer archery hunting with Burlington-specific restrictions, highlighted as follows:

The Landlocked Forest may be hunted only by those persons who have been issued a lawful Burlington Archery Hunting Permit by the Town of Burlington. The Town of Burlington will limit the number of Burlington Archery Hunting Permits to 20 permits, 10 of which shall be reserved for Burlington residents.
