• Coyote Spotted During Daytime Hours In Burlington (patch.com) — Residents near Jessica Drive and Cutting Lane in Burlington are being advised about a coyote with mange that has been active during daylight hours. Animal Control says the animal's behavior is being monitored and is not currently a public safety threat, but urges people to haze it from yards, secure pets, remove food sources, and report any signs of aggression or unusual behavior.
   

• Burlington Board of Health Advises Residents About Hot Tub Safety (bcattv.org) — Burlington's Board of Health is reminding residents that it oversees public and semi-public hot tubs and similar special-purpose pools under state sanitary rules, including strict limits on water temperature and cleaning schedules. While these rules don't apply to private home hot tubs, they do govern any public or semi-public facilities you might visit in town, and residents can call the Board with questions.
   

• Globe Top 20 girls' volleyball poll: For the first time, a new No. 1 (bostonglobe.com) — Burlington High's girls' volleyball team has broken into the Boston Globe's Top 20 after a hard-fought five-set win over Woburn, underscoring the strength of the Middlesex League. The new rankings, led by Oliver Ames, show how competitive Eastern Massachusetts volleyball has become, with Burlington now firmly in the mix among top programs.
