About The Real School of Music Acquires Renowned Yamaha Instructors & Curriculum
The Real School of Music is pleased to announce its acquisition of former Yamaha Music School of Boston instructors and expanded curriculum just weeks after the announcement of the Yamaha school’s upcoming closure. Mina Osako, Yuki Shibata, Miriam Conti Vanoni, Jee-Lian Parry and Jared Rocco will begin teaching Yamaha Music Education System (YMES) Group Classes and private music lessons this Fall in Burlington and Andover, MA.
“The Yamaha curriculum provides a great foundation in music for young children and is highly sought after,” said Bill Doss, Vice President of Operations & Programming for The Real School of Music. “We are glad we can ensure these instructors and the Yamaha Group Music Classes are able to stay and grow in our community.”
YMES Group Class instructors undergo rigorous seminar training with the national music education department staff at Yamaha Corp of America and must be able to sing on pitch, play piano, accompany, conduct, transpose, improvise and manage both children and their parents in a group setting. In every Yamaha group music class, the teacher is responsible for creating an atmosphere conducive to learning that also engages students in building their connection with music.
