9 Displaced Following Fire At Cambridge Residence

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Nine people and two dogs were displaced after a fire broke out at a residence in Cambridge on Thursday.

Crews responded to the two-alarm blaze on Roberts Road early Thursday morning. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered flames emanating from the third floor of the three-family residence.

Under the command of Acting Deputy Chief Joseph Fournier, firefighters were able to bring the incident under control in just over an hour.

Those impacted by the blaze were assisted by the Cambridge Fire Department Office of Emergency Preparedness and the American Red Cross.

The Somerville, Arlington, Belmont, and Brookline Fire Departments provided mutual aid during the response.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Cambridge Fire Investigation Unit. No injuries have been reported.
