2. Keezer's moving down the block; Simon's can't yet say what's next (cambridgeday.com) — Cambridge staple Keezer's and its sister shop Le Courtier are shifting a few doors down Massachusetts Avenue this week, just ahead of demolition for a new six-story housing and retail project. The move keeps the vintage clothing and tailoring businesses in the neighborhood long term, while Simon's Coffee is still searching for a nearby location as the developer eyes bringing both shops back once construction finishes.
3. Second Half Comeback Sends UMass Past Women's Soccer (gocrimson.com) — Harvard women's soccer dropped a 4–3 heartbreaker in Cambridge after UMass stormed back from a three-goal deficit in the second half. Playing at home, the Crimson saw standout Ólöf Kristinsdóttir score twice early before the Minutewomen rallied with late goals, leaving Harvard seeking its first win as the homestand continues Thursday against Fairfield.
4. Henry David Thoreau, Scientist (flaglerlive.com) — Henry David Thoreau's lesser-known side as a quantitative scientist includes an 1859 research trip to Harvard's library in Cambridge to study river hydraulics. This piece traces how his meticulous work on streams, lakes, and glacial landscapes complemented his famous writings on Walden and civil disobedience, helping shape early environmental science and policy debates.
