• Firefighter hospitalized after fire rekindles at Canton home where resident suffered burns (wcvb.com) — A firefighter was hospitalized and a homeowner badly burned after a fire at 11 Hickory Lane in Canton rekindled overnight, destroying much of the house and leaving the front structurally unsafe. Canton Fire Department crews first battled heavy flames Sunday afternoon, then returned around 3 a.m. when the blaze flared up again. The cause remains under investigation.
   

• Jury selection begins in Matthew Farwell's murder trial (wpri.com) — Jury selection is underway in Boston for the federal murder trial of former Stoughton police officer Matthew Farwell, accused of killing 23-year-old Canton resident Sandra Birchmore and her unborn son in 2021. Prosecutors allege he strangled her and staged the scene as a suicide, while the defense points to her mental health and disputed medical findings. The trial is expected to last about a month.
