Charlestown resident Nancy Ludwig, also a member of the board of HomeStart, recently attended the 12th annual “Keys to the House” Fundraiser for HomeStart. The event, annually supported by Boston's real estate community, took place at ArtBlock in the South End of Boston, the first disposition of publicly owned land in Mayor Menino's Artist Space Initiative, and also featured Spanish tapas from Estragon, live jazz and 3D mechanical sculptures by Richard Bertman. Former HomeStart Client Gary Little spoke about his successful experience with the organization and the need for continued support of its cause. The event raised funds for HomeStart a Boston-based nonprofit whose mission is to end and prevent homelessness by assisting individuals in obtaining permanent housing and settling into the community, and by developing strategies to address systemic barriers to housing placement.
