UPDATED: 3-Alarm Fire Engulfs Boardwalk Road Home
Crews used an aerial water ladder to attack the blaze.
A three-alarm fire broke out at a Boardwalk Road home Saturday evening.
The blaze, which started at about 6:45 p.m., completely engulfed a home at 5 Boardwalk Road in a residential part of town.
According to Fire Chief Michael Curran, prior to the fire the homeowner was burning trash outside. Curran believes embers from the fire got on the roof and ignited the house, he said.

Shortly before 9 p.m. the fire appeared to be under control but fire fighters were still putting out hot spots.
There are no injuries. Making it easier for fire fighters, a fire hydrant is next to the wood framed home's driveway.

Crews from Billerica, Tewsbury, Westford, and Nashua responded to the scene.
One crew attacked the fire by aerial ladder shooting water down on the two-and-a-half story home.
