30 Chelmsford Students Qualify for Massachusetts Music Educators Association Junior District Festival

The concert will be held at Lowell High School on Saturday April 11.

The Chelmsford High School Fine and Performing Arts Department recently announced that 30 students from Chelmsford middle and high schools have been selected for the 2015 MMEA Junior District Concert Music Ensembles.

On Saturday, Jan. 31, almost 1,000 students auditioned for the Northeast District Festival, and the competition was fierce. The students who qualified for this prestigious event will work with musicians from surrounding towns and rehearse with guest conductors to prepare for a concert to be held at Lowell High School on Saturday April 11, 2015.

“We are thrilled to send this many students to the Jr. District festival,” commented CHS Director of Bands Matthew Sexauer. “This is a very special group of musicians who are particularly dedicated to a high level of music making.”
