Chelmsford Woman Charged In Cocaine-Dealing Case, Police Say

CHELMSFORD, MA — Two people were charged with dealing drugs in Tewksbury on Monday, according to police.

Officers were patrolling the area of Main Street on Monday at about 6:15 p.m. when they saw what appeared to be a drug deal involving a silver sedan.

Officers identified the people in the car as Kevin Jones, 30, of Lowell, and Laura Coffey, 31, of Chelmsford. While speaking with them, officers spotted clear plastic bags containing a white powdery substance in the car.

Jones was charged with trafficking in 18 grams or more of cocaine, distribution of a class B drug, possession with intent to distribute a class B drug and possession of a class B drug.

Coffey was charged with trafficking in 18 grams or more of cocaine, distribution of a class B drug and possession with intent to distribute a class B drug.

They were taken into custody without incident.

In a search of the car, police said they found 26.2 grams of cocaine, crack cocaine, MDMA and drug paraphernalia.

Jones and Coffey were arraigned Tuesday in Lowell District Court.
