• Middlesex Sheriff's Office Celebrates Successful 25th Season of its Youth Public Safety Academy (thereadingpost.com) — Chelmsford hosted the Middlesex Sheriff's Youth Public Safety Academy this summer, bringing 513 kids from 40 communities, including many local cadets, to the MSO Training Academy. Over five weeks, Chelmsford-based sessions featured hands-on lessons in fire, police, emergency preparedness, and safety topics, plus visits from state and federal partners, giving local children memorable exposure to public safety careers.
   

• Military lawyers appointed to immigration court bench in Chelmsford (lowellsun.com) — Chelmsford's federal immigration court is now relying on temporary military lawyers as judges, after many prior judges were dismissed under the Trump administration. Civil liberties advocates and a former Chelmsford immigration judge are raising concerns about the judges' immigration-law experience, their military oaths, and what this shift could mean for due process in local cases.
